About This Project

The Woburn Coffee House came to us with an interesting brief. They wanted to create a glass link between the main tea room and the orangery, making it easier to move between the two spaces while keeping the light, open feel of the venue.

This bespoke glass link was designed to feel like a natural part of the existing venue, rather than something that had simply been added afterwards.

Because the coffee house already has such a distinctive look, the new section needed to feel like it belonged there. We worked with the client to create a bespoke design that suited the existing building rather than competing with it.

A subtle blue tint was chosen for the glass, which worked particularly well with the colours and character already found throughout the venue. Everything was made to measure for the space, giving the finished link a clean and considered appearance.

It was a slightly different project for our team and a great example of what can be achieved when glazing is designed around the property rather than using an off-the-shelf solution. With years of experience working on conservatories, windows and glazing projects, our team was able to create a solution that worked naturally with the existing orangery.

What We Did

Our team installed the bespoke glass link between the main tea room and the orangery, creating a much more natural connection between the two areas.

The large sections of glass keep the space feeling bright and allow plenty of natural light to pass through. The blue tint adds a subtle point of difference without taking attention away from the existing style of The Woburn Coffee House.

As with all of our installations, the glass was carefully measured and fitted by the Crown Windows team to make sure the final finish was neat, secure and suited the space.

What we really like about this project is that the glazing has a clear practical purpose, but it also adds something visually to the venue. It connects two important areas without making either space feel closed off.
